It has been almost 10 months since Niclas Füllkrug last played for the German national team.
Despite this, he still has a good chance of being included in the World Cup squad, according to Bild.
The German tabloid reports that he is lined up as the third striker behind Kai Havertz and Nick Woltemade.
Stuttgart’s Deniz Undav, meanwhile, is reportedly planned as the third attacking midfielder behind Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry.
Füllkrug joined AC Milan on loan from West Ham in January in search of more playing time.
So far, the 33-year-old centre-forward has found the net once in 14 games for the Serie A giants.
For Germany, he has scored 14 goals in 24 appearances.
