Harry Kane returned from injury to score and play 90 minutes as Bayern Munich secured a 2–1 win over Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie three days ago.

The Bavarians must now turn their attention to Saturday’s Bundesliga game against FC St. Pauli, and at a press conference on Friday ahead of it, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany gave a brief update on the 32-year-old striker.

“Harry Kane was fine after the [Real] game. He played a bit beyond the pain threshold,” Kompany said.

“But the next day there was no reaction, that's the most important thing,” he added.

With an eye on the return leg against Real Madrid on Wednesday, Kane could be rested at the weekend, with Nicolas Jackson ready to deputise if needed after serving a two-match suspension.
