2. Bundesliga: Bottom-placed Münster hinder Hannover’s promotion hopes

Hannover missed the chance to climb to automatic promotion spot after conceding an injury-time equalizer to relegation-threatened Preußen Münster.

Hannover and Preußen Münster shared the spoils in a six-goal thriller on Sunday afternoon. The hosts climbed to third with the result, but they could've been second had they avoided Jorrit Hendrix's 93rd-minute equalizer for the visitors.

Münster’s captain slightly helped his club's chances of staying in the league with the last-gasp goal, but they are five points behind the three teams above them in the standings after failing to win any of their last eight matches.

Christian Titz's side are unbeaten in this timeframe, although this result can be considered as another missed opportunity. Hannover were two goals behind before Mustapha Bundu's first-half injury-time brace leveled the score. Stefan Thordarson seemed to complete the turnaround before the late drama forced them to settle for a third consecutive home draw.

They will face teams with very little to play for in the next two weeks as games against Bochum and Nürnberg await the promotion hopefuls. Münster could still go automatically down even if they beat Darmstadt and Elversberg.
