Alexander Blessin isn’t satisfied with his team’s performance after St. Pauli’s goalless draw with HSV. Both teams struggled to create clear-cut chances, and the result didn't help their push to avoid the drop.

“I’m just disappointed,” St. Pauli’s coach addressed the media after the game. “In the first half, we weren’t in the game at all. HSV won 63% of the duels. For a derby concerning a relegation fight, that's too little from us.

“The only good thing was that we didn’t allow any chance. We then came into the game better and were able to make it balanced. We had eight corners, but six didn't get beyond the first post. Still, it's a point. We don't know how valuable this one can still be.”

St. Pauli will hope for their first win of the new year when they host RB Leipzig on Tuesday in a rescheduled fixture from matchday 16. With the quarter-final of the DFB-Pokal games played in the first midweek of February, St. Pauli are facing five games in the space of 15 days.
