Bayern boss puts pressure on Kompany to deliver quick results

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has put new Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany under pressure to produce results from the outset.

After a long search, Bayern Munich recently confirmed Vincent Kompany as their new coach.

And the young coach will be under pressure from the start, with Bayern supervisory board member Karl-Heinz Rummenigge making it clear that he's expected to deliver immediate results.

"I wish him every success, because if you don't win a title for one year as Bayern Munich, that's one year too many," Rummenigge told Bild.

He added that Bayern board member Max Eberl is "convinced by this relatively young and not very experienced man."

"I think he has the right philosophy. I asked Pep Guardiola, who had him as a player for a long time. He said he was convinced he was an exciting coach," added the 68-year-old.

“You must not forget that Bayern Munich play relatively attacking and dominant football. He represents that philosophy.”

Kompany joins Bayern after spending the last two years in charge of Burnley. Prior to his time in England, he coached Anderlecht.
