Bayern bosses reflect on Musiala's road to recovery: "It wasn't a simple injury"

Vincent Kompany and Max Eberl appear intent on managing Jamal Musiala's return with caution as he moves forward in his recovery from injury.

Jamal Musiala recently expressed optimism about returning from injury in time for Germany’s UEFA Nations League Final Four in June.

Bayern, meanwhile, are erring on the side of caution, with head coach Vincent Kompany highlighting the importance of not rushing Musiala back.

“We always support our players. They also have the mentality to always want to play. We need to look at things medically. It wasn't a simple injury,” said Kompany at a press conference on Friday.

"Obviously we always support our guys in playing for their national teams. We'll discuss things in the coming weeks."

Sitting alongside Kompany at Friday's press conference, Max Eberl echoed the head coach's words.

"Players want to play for their country. We'll talk about what's best. But first and foremost is that the guys are fit and healthy."

Musiala has been sidelined since early April with a torn muscle bundle. He recently returned to individual ball training.
