Bayern chief leaves Neuer's future open

Bayern Munich chief executive Jan-Chirstian Dreesen says the "next few weeks and months" will determine Manuel Neuer's future.

Manuel Neuer's contract with Bayern Munich expires in the summer - and it's unclear what will happen after that.

In an interview with Bild, Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has left the future of the veteran goalkeeper open.

"We are happy that Manuel will remain in goal for FC Bayern this season and I am sure that we will be successful with him," Dreesen told Bild.

"We have not yet discussed his future internally. The next weeks and months will show what happens next," he added.

Neuer himself recently hinted that he could see himself staying beyond the end of the season.

"If we have a successful season with the new coaching staff and new momentum, that means it's fun for me. And if it's fun, then I'll definitely stay on," the 38-year-old told kicker.
