Hannover 96 have confirmed they have successfully extended the contract of Marius Worl until June 2027, the club announced.

Worl, who signed on a free transfer from 1860 Munich in 2023, was loaned to his current club Arminia Bielefeld to gain match experience.

The midfielder quickly found a home for himself at the 3.Liga side and has been a mainstay in their lineups ever since.

Worl has arguably been the star of the show for Bielefeld in their DFB-Pokal cup run this campaign.

The 20-year-old has bagged 2 goals and 3 assists in 4 outings against Bundesliga opponents on each occasion.

Bielefeld exercised the purchase option included in the loan deal, but Hannover have acted fast by activating their right to re-purchase.

“We are all the more pleased to have him back with us in Hanover from the summer so that he can take the next step here. We are planning on him being a permanent member of 96 for the coming season,” Hannover’s sporting director Marcus Mann said.
