Confirmed: Leverkusen loan Mbamba out to Düsseldorf

German champions Bayer 04 Leverkusen confirmed a loan out to the German second division for Belgian developmental prospect Noah Mbamba yesterday.

Not long after revealing to Kicker Magazine Leverkusen correspondent Stephan van Nocks that he wished to find a loan locale for the 19-year-old, Bayer 04 Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes hammered out a deal to park Belgian youth international Noah Mbamba in Düsseldorf. Mbamba will spend next season playing for the FLingeraner, who themselves narrowly missed out on promotion to the first division via the playoffs.

"Noah has developed very well with us over the past year-and-a-half," Rolfes noted in a club statement, "We have great confidence in him and are convinced that he will play an important role in the B04 squad in the future. In Düsseldorf, however, he maintains a better shot of getting appearances important for his further development as a professional footballer."

In reporting on Mbamba's imminent loan-out earlier this week, van Nocks also suggested that young midfield talent Gustavo Puerta might also be parked elsewhere ahead of next season. In a new report appearing on Kicker's website, van Nocks now suggests that Rolfes and Xabi Alonso's coaching staff are now considering keeping Puerta on the roster through training camp.
