Edin Terzic: "Maybe we deserved a bit more"

Edin Terzic was proud of his Dortmund side after their 2-0 Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid, saying they "maybe deserved a bit more".

Despite losing 2-0 to Real Madrid in the Champions League final, Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic was proud of his side's performance.

"We played a great game and maybe we deserved a bit more. Especially in the first half you had the feeling that we had it in us," Terzic said in a post-match interview.

Ultimately, Real Madrid were the more ruthless side and Terzic was full of respect for their "killer instinct".

“We showed that we believed in it. We did so many things right and the only difference is that they had that killer instinct. And then you see the quality they have. That's why they deserve to be champions again,” he said.

Like Terzic, Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke felt the game could have gone BVB's way, but said he couldn't fault the players.

"We did very well. We should have taken the lead in the first half and it would have been a different game. Real took full advantage. But you can't blame the team, we showed a good face"," said Watzke.
