Despite his contract running until 2028, a separation between Nadiem Amiri and Mainz 05 seems more and more likely this summer.

Sky Germany has added to that speculation, listing Galatasaray as a potential destination for the nine-time German international.

According to the pay-TV broadcaster, a group of officials from the Turkish giants would very much like to bring Amiri to Istanbul.

However, Okan Buruk is opposed to this. The Galatasaray coach is reportedly not entirely convinced by Amiri and has other preferences.

Galatasaray are said to be planning a new transfer offensive for the summer, and the funds for Amiri would therefore be available.

However, for a move to make sense for Amiri, Buruk would also have to give his approval for the 29-year-old to come to Istanbul.

Across all competitions, Amiri has scored 16 goals and provided 4 assists this season – further increasing his value as a result.
