Gladbach sign German U17 talent from Dortmund

Borussia Mönchengladbach confirmed the signing of Germany U17 World Champion Charles Herrmann late Monday afternoon.

Eighteen-year-old attacker/fullback Charles Herrmann has joined Borussia Mönchengladbach on a free transfer from the BVB youth system. The teenage talent was amongst members of Christian Wück's Germany U17 squad which took the U17 World Cup this past December. Herrmann is slated for the BMG U23s for the time being.

"He is a young, talented player who has the potential for higher tasks," Gladbach sporting director Roland Virkus noted in a statement accompanying the signing, "But first he has to settle in here. We will give him the opportunities and time to develop."

“We wanted to convince Charles to join us four years ago," BMG youth director Mirko Sandmöller added, "He has a good left foot, is strong on the dribble, and always creates a goal threat with his dynamism."
