Hoeness "would love to see" Wirtz at Bayern

In a wide-ranging interview on Sunday, Uli Hoeness made it clear that he "would love to see" Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Florian Wirtz at Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeness is known for his outspokenness and he didn't disappoint in an interview on Sunday where he talked about several topics.

Among other things, he praised Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz, who impressed together for Germany during the Euros.

While Musiala already plays for Bayern, Wirtz is a key player for Bayer Leverkusen, but Hoeness would like to see him come to Munich as well.

"I am a fan of Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz. We all know that I would love to see Wirtz at Bayern," Hoeness said, according to Bild.

"But I think the hype around them is wrong. Under this pressure, they cannot develop the way they should. I think it's crazy to compare Jamal to Maradona. It does young players no favors.

"There is no doubt that they can reach that level. But I think it's a big mistake to put so much pressure on them now," said the Bayern boss.
