Hoffenheim midfielder moves to Salzburg on loan

Umut Tohumcu has joined RB Salzburg on loan from TSG Hoffenheim for the 2026/27 season.

The Bundesliga club confirmed the transfer on Friday evening.

“Umut completed the entire pre-season with us, and over the past few weeks we have had intensive and very open discussions about his further sporting development. Together, we have come to the conclusion that the loan move to Salzburg is currently a top opportunity for him,” said TSG Hoffenheim managing director for sport Andreas Schicker.

“Salzburg offers Umut the chance to gain regular playing time and continue developing in an ambitious environment. Added to that is the international perspective, which makes this step particularly valuable for him. We are convinced that Umut will benefit from this experience and wish him every success during this chapter.”
