Joshua Kimmich: "We were the better team"

Joshua Kimmich thought Bayern Munich were the better team in Tuesday's 2-2 draw with Real Madrid.

Tuchel embraces the challenge of winning at the Bernabéu, where he won with Chelsea
Thomas Tuchel likes the scenario in which FC Bayern stand on after the 2-2 draw in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid. The German head coach is sure that his team will create some chances to win at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Bayern Munich came from a goal down to take a 2-1 lead, but were ultimately held to a 2-2 draw by Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal on Tuesday.

In a post-match interview, Joshua Kimmich said he felt Bayern were the more dominant team in the game.

“I believe we were the better team and had the better chances. Of course it's annoying to concede the equaliser with a penalty,” said Kimmich.

"We saw today that we can do more than just keep up with them. We had stretches in the game during which we were in control and created chances. We will also be able to do that next week. Everything is open. The winner takes the cake."

The return leg will take place at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday next week.
