1.FC Nürnberg have signed 20-year-old Noah Maboulou, who moves from Stade Rennes to Nürnberg on a free transfer.

Maboulou comes from the Rennes youth academy, which has become one of the most renowned talent factories in France in recent years.

Nürnberg first spotted Maboulou at the Maurice Revello Tournament in June, where the attacker played with Congo's U20 team.

The prestigious tournament is considered the highest-level competition in European youth football after the U-21 European Championship.

The French-born striker last played for Rennes' second team and scored 8 goals in 20 competitive matches last season.

FCN sports director Joti Chatzialexiou said: “We see potential in Noah and want to develop him further together with our coaching team.

"This is a process that is now being initiated, and for which the youngster will be given the time he needs. We are excited to be able to get started on the pitch with him.”
