Klopp’s Germany squad omission revealed ahead of Netherlands clash

Bambasé Conté will not be able to make his Germany debut when they face the Netherlands on Thursday in their first game under Jürgen Klopp and their UEFA Nations League opener.

Klopp named 24 players in his squad for the upcoming matches against the Netherlands and Greece, but can only include 23 players in his matchday squad.

Germany’s squad for Thursday’s game against the Netherlands has now been confirmed by UEFA, revealing that Conté is the player who has been left out.

“I already know who I'm leaving out, but anything can happen overnight, so I'll announce it tomorrow. I've already spoken to the player, and he'll be in the squad next time,” Klopp said of the decision on Wednesday.

After Germany’s next two games against the Netherlands (A) and Greece (H), another 20-man squad will take over for the following matches against Serbia (H) and Greece (A).
