Köln confirm midfielder's move to Braga

After four years at 1. FC Köln, Denis Huseinbašić is leaving the club to join SC Braga.
The Billy Goats confirmed the 24-year-old midfielder’s switch to Portugal on Wednesday.
“'Deni' did not get the amount of playing time he had hoped for last season and approached us with a desire to move. We were able to reach an agreement with SC Braga and grant his request. We thank Deni for four years in a Köln shirt and wish him all the best, both professionally and personally, for the future," said 1. FC Köln managing director for sport Thomas Kessler.
Denis Huseinbašić added:
“It has been four exciting years for me, for which I am extremely grateful above all else. FC gave me the opportunity and trust to take my first steps in professional football. The fans supported me and the team, even during difficult periods. I would like to thank all FC fans for that.”
Huseinbašić made nine starts in 16 appearances for Köln in the 2025/26 season.
In total, he made 108 appearances for the Bundesliga side, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists.
