Real Madrid fans likely took a deep breath when Kylian Mbappé missed training on Sunday, just three days before their crucial Champions League quarter-final second leg against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.
The Frenchman received an elbow to the head during Real’s 1-1 draw with Girona at the weekend and subsequently posted an image of the wound on Instagram.
However, Real were handed a boost on Monday, with Mbappé returning to training alongside his teammates.
As a result, there appears to be little doubt that he will start Wednesday’s clash in Munich, where Real will look to overturn a 1-2 deficit from the first leg.
Mbappé will be key to their hopes of turning the tie around, having scored their only goal at the Bernabéu last week.
