RB Leipzig set their sights on RC Strasbourg winger Diego Moreira to replace Yan Diomande. After the Ivorian completed his move to Real Madrid for a record transfer sum in the Bundesliga club’s history, Leipzig accelerated their attempts to find suitable replacements.
According to Sky Sports, 22-year-old Belgian international Moreira is now seen as the top priority. Florian Plettenberg reports RB Leipzig and the former Chelsea player reached verbal agreement over a contract until 2031.
However, RB Leipzig are reportedly unwilling to pay Strasbourg’s €60-70 million asking price. The transfer is at an early stage as there are no active negotiations yet, although the two clubs are in contact.
The 2026 World Cup participants scored four goals and assisted seven times in Ligue 1 last season. He joined Strasbourg from fellow BlueCo side Chelsea for €8.5 million a couple of summers ago.
