French attacking midfielder Arnaud Nordin has joined Mainz 05 from Montpellier.

The Bundesliga side confirmed the signing of the 26-year-old attacking midfielder on Tuesday, with the deal running until 2028.

“Arnaud is a two-footed player and a great dribbler. He operates at a high tempo and can play in any position across the forward line. He has proved his quality across more than 200 Ligue 1 appearances and can offer us immediate reinforcement," commented Mainz sporting director Niko Bungert.

“We have been monitoring him for some time now, so the fact we have been able to secure his services and will get to watch him perform for us in the red and white shirt is very exciting.”

Nordin, who has played 198 games in the French Ligue 1 with 33 goals and 20 assists to his name, said:

“Mainz’s style of play suits me really well. I have followed the team’s matches for a while and I already know Anthony Caci from the France Olympic squad. I get on with him well.

“It has been a dream of mine for some time to be able to play in the Bundesliga, so I am really pleased to get that chance here at Mainz 05. I am just looking forward to getting to know the fans, city and culture now.”
