Multiple sources: Anton opts for Dortmund move

Sky Germany and Kicker Magazine are now both reporting that VfB Stuttgart captain Waldemar Anton has decided to transfer to Borussia Dortmund.

Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano also claims that the 27-year-old center back has opted for BVB over Leverkusen

There are now updates to reports emerging earlier in the week regarding the furniture of VfB Stuttgart squad captain Waldemar Anton. Despite talk that German champions Bayer 04 Leverkusen were closer to acquiring the central defender, it now appears as if the 27-year-old will be joining Borussia Dortmund. This is reported by both Sky Germany and Germany's preeminent footballing publication, Kicker Magazine.

The two sources both note that a medical is still pending. Furthermore, official confirmation may not come before the end of the German national team's European Championship journey. Anton will replace departed BVB center back Mats Hummels via an exit clause in his current contract totaling around €22 million. After Hannover 96 and Stuttgart, Dortmund shall be Anton's third German professional footballing station.
