Joe Scally: "We had the momentum on our side"

"We had the momentum on our side," said Joe Scally after Gladbach's 2-1 win over Bochum.
Joe Scally has shared his thoughts on Gladbach's 2-1 victory over VfL Bochum in the Bundesliga on Sunday.

'Die Borussen' were two goals up at the break and held on to take all three points, although Bochum pulled one back late on.

Speaking in a post-match interview, Scally said he was delighted that his side managed to keep their momentum after Wednesday's 5-0 thumping of Bayern München in the DFB-Pokal.

"After the cup game on Wednesday against Bayern München, we had the momentum on our side. It was important that we took an early lead. We were then able to build on that," said Scally, who set up Gladbach's opener, and added:

"In the end, it was difficult for us again. Of course, we have to analyze what we did wrong in the final phase and do better next time. But it was also the third game within a week for us, although that should not be an excuse.

"In the end, we got the three points and that's the most important thing. Now we have to keep up. Next week we play in Mainz, and of course we want to win there, too."
