DFB confirms two-match ban for Maxence Lacroix

Germany's FA confirmed a two-match suspension for VfL Wolfsburg center back Maxence Lacroix on Monday evening.
An incident deep into injury time during Wolfsburg's 2-0 win over Leverkusen on the weekend will cost defender Maxence Lacroix two league fixtures.

The French center halve tugged on Lucas Alario's jersey as the Leverkusen attacker entered the penalty area at 90+6. Match official Deniz Aytekin did not hesitate to show Lacroix a straight red for denying a goal-scoring opportunity. Alario ended up missing the ensuing penalty.

Lacroix's suspension affects both the coming fixture against Augsburg and, after the international break, the round 12 Bundesliga match against Bielefeld.

The 21-year-old remains eligible for tomorrow evening's Champions' League fixture against RB Salzburg. A start can be assumed after the club also revealed on Monday evening that Sebastiaan Bornauw will be out with a knee capsule injury.
