Fantasy Bundesliga:
Template team and potential transfers for Matchday 19

By FBLThinker   @FBLThinker

Matchday 18 took place last week, with Bundesliga action returning after the winter break. The template team performed well, with the starting eleven scoring 121 points, though Schlotterbeck and Flekken missing out with COVID was unforeseen. This again emphasizes the point of having a playing squad of 15 players to cover for unforeseen absences.

In this article, we take a look at our selected template team as well as the players we can target to bring in this matchday, using our 3 transfers.

In this regard, the word 'template' refers to players who are highly owned, regularly scoring good fantasy points and being main players for their teams.

Below, you'll find the template team from last week and the latest Fantasy score of each player.

Goalkeepers:
Mark Flekken, Freiburg (7.8M), 0 points
Manuel Riemann, Bochum (5.8M), 12 points

Defenders:
Raphaël Guerreiro, Dortmund (14.1M), 6 points
Aarón Martín, Mainz (3.6M), -4 points
Jeremie Frimpong, Leverkusen (7.6M), 4 points
Borna Sosa, Stuttgart (10.7M), 15 points
Nico Schlotterbeck, Freiburg (9.4M), 0 points

Midfielders:
Florian Wirtz, Leverkusen (13.4M), 6 points
Filip Kostic, Frankfurt (17.3M), 11 points
Vincenzo Grifo, Freiburg (14.8M), 9 points
Florian Kainz, FC Köln (8.8M), 3 points
Dominik Szoboszlai, RB Leipzig (12.1M), 22 points

Strikers:
Robert Lewandowski, Bayern (21.2M), 12 points
Erling Haaland, Dortmund (18.3M), 13 points
Patrik Schick, Leverkusen (15.6M), 11 points

TRANSFER 1:
Florian Kainz OUT, Patrick Wimmer IN

Patrick Wimmer looked threatening against Freiburg, almost scoring the winner in the last minutes. Against a solid Freiburg defense, he took 4 shots with 1 on target and even missed a big chance. He racked up 13 points and with a fixture against Fürth, who have conceded the most goals and shots on target, the prospect of Wimmer having a good game looks bright.

TRANSFER 2:
Florian Wirtz OUT, Christopher Nkunku IN

Nkunku came off the bench against Mainz to score and provide 2 assists, showing why he is the must-own midfielder in the game. Leipzig have an away game at Stuttgart and considering their attacking strength, a double up with Nkunku and Szoboszlai could be a nice differential against owning only one of them. Wirtz did not look involved in the Leverkusen attacking play and also has seen a recent dip in form.

TRANSFER 3:
Nico Schlotterbeck OUT, Cedric Brunner IN

With a match against Fürth, who have managed to score only 6 goals away from home, the prospect of a clean sheet looks good for Brunner. Along with it comes his attacking runs down the right and crosses, which could lead to attacking return as well. Nico Schlotterbeck was unfortunately infected with COVID ahead of the second half of the season and will miss the match against Dortmund.
