Lewandowski double sinks AEK

Robert Lewandowski scored twice as Bayern München saw off AEK at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern München climb top of the Champions League's Group E with a 2-0 win against AEK at the Allianz Arena tonight.

AEK came close with a header at the beginning of the match, but barely created anything apart from that in a one-sided affair.

Despite heavily dominating possession, Bayern didn't create many chances initially, but the Bavarians managed to bring themselves ahead after they were awarded a dubious penalty with about half an hour played.

The referee pointed to the spot after Robert Lewandowski was pulled down after a corner, and the Polish international stepped up to convert from the spot himself.

After the break, Bayern pushed for the second goal which finally came after 71 minutes when Lewandowski kicked the ball into the net after a corner.

Bayern now lead Group E with 10 points - two points ahead of Ajax who drew 1-1 with Benfica tonight.

Elsewhere, Hoffenheim drew 2-2 with Olympique Lyon in France.
