Report: Union set to sign Freiburg midfielder
Kicker reports that Union Berlin are set to sign Janik Haberer from Freiburg.
Union Berlin are poised to complete the signing of Janik Haberer from Freiburg, according to Kicker.
Per the German football magazine, the 28-year-old will make the switch to Union on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Back in March, Freiburg sporting director Jochen Saier admitted that Haberer would probably leave the club:
"We currently assume that Janik will be looking for a new challenge for himself," he said at the time.
FC Köln, Mainz and Schalke 04 were reportedly also interested in Haberer, who has spent the last six years in Freiburg.
