A move to DC United is reported upon by multiple German and American footballing media sources. Schalke 04 are expected to pocket roughly €500,000 for the 31-year-old they paid €700,000 for last summer.

The latest reports emerging from Germany's main sporting tabloid suggest that, in lieu of a sale, Schröder has hammed out a loan arrangement with FC Utrecht. The 21-year-old will move to the Erdevisie for a €500,000 loan fee. The Sport Bild newspaper claims a €2.1 million purchase option is built into the deal.
