Raum explains decision to snub interest from Dortmund to join RB Leipzig

Germany defender David Raum has opened up on why he ended up joining RB Leipzig instead of Borussia Dortmund.
David Raum was linked with a number of clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, before ultimately joining RB Leipzig from Hoffenheim on a five-year deal.

In an interview with Sky Germany, the German international has explained why he ended up in Leipzig and not in Dortmund.

"Overall, several clubs were interested. I listened to everything and dealt intensively with all the offers. The overall package at RB Leipzig - with all the people in charge and the coaching team - convinced me in the end and prevailed," said Raum.

"There are a lot of issues involved in a transfer like this, everything has to be right. At RB, it was clear that everything fits. Overall, the timing at BVB meant that things didn't really heat up in the end. Ultimately, I put all the facts on the table and realized that the decision for RB was the right one."

Raum made his debut for Leipzig last week, playing 90 minutes in his new side's 1-1 draw with Stuttgart.
