German football's ultra-competitor could no longer disguise his feelings on Saturday when commenting on Bayern's fourth consecutive league fixture with out a win. One of the Bundesliga's living legends put it about as bluntly as he could.

"After four games without a win, we stand here stunned and dejected," Müller noted during his post match interview, "This weather reflects it well. It's been getting darker and darker."

The German giants were not without their chances in Saturday's 0-1 loss to Augsburg. To say that the the defending champions looked like a team guarding the Meisterschale would nevertheless be wholly incorrect. The squad lacked imagination for much of the game, failing frequently with centralized attacks.

"We created some situations," a clearly dejected Müller said, "but if you don't hit the ball cleanly, we stand here with zero points."

Müller and his teammates had issues with their opportunities from close range. Although FCA keeper Rafal Gikiewicz made some fine stops, there were plenty of instances in which hard strikes in Gikiewicz's vicinity didn't end up landing on target. This was obviously what Müller was referring to.

Gikiewicz did end up saving a stinging effort by FCB keeper Manuel Neuer, who was working up with the outfielders on a corner at 90+4. In a scene that was somewhat emblematic of Bayern's afternoon on the whole, however, Neuer actually headed whilst up forward on a corner two minutes prior.

"Manu [Neuer] nearly scored his first Bundesliga goal," Müller lamented, "but Rafa Gikiewicz was also in good form today."
