Fantasy Bundesliga: Must-haves and differentials for Matchday 12
Ahead of Matchday 12, we have highlighted a must-have player (M) and a differential pick (D) from each game that you should consider for your Fantasy Bundesliga team.
SV Werder Bremen v. Hertha BSC:
M: Dodi Lukébakio, Forward (BSC, 8.6M, 4%) - Although Lukébakio did not make the scoresheet last weekend, he has bagged three goals in the last four games. In Fantasy terms, he is just about in the top 10 for forwards, scoring more points than players such as Sadio Mané and Moussa Diaby.
D: Stevan Jovetić, Forward (BSC, 8.3M, 0%) - Jovetić has been playing pretty well after missing four of the last seven games. He has scored a goal and grabbed an assist in the last two matches.
FC Bayern München v. 1. FSV Mainz 05:
M: Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Forward (FCB, 4.7M, 4%) - In the last six games in Bundesliga and Champions League play, Choupo-Moting has scored four goals and one assist. There are not many players in Europe in such good form at the moment. Ride him while he is hot and still starting.
D: Marcus Ingvartsen, Forward (M05, 4.5M, 0%) - Another very in-form striker, Ingvartsen has scored in each of the last three matches. After missing half the season already, Mainz are ecstatic to have another body in the attack.
RB Leipzig v. Bayer 04 Leverkusen:
M: Dominik Szoboszlai, Midfielder (RBL, 13.2M, 11%) - Szoboszlai has recorded three assists in the last two matches, gaining double digit Fantasy points in both. After a superb win over Real Madrid midweek in the Champions League, Leipzig’s spirits should be high.
D: Adam Hložek, Forward (B04, 9.9M, 0%) - In the last two matches including Champions League, Hložek has grabbed an assist in each. His specialty is chance creations and should start again as Schick works his way back to match fitness.
VfL Wolfsburg v. VfL Bochum 1848:
M: Paulo Otávio, Defender (WOB, 7.8M, 3%) - Wolfsburg are unbeaten in their last four league matches, albeit three of them draws. Either way, Wolfsburg are heading in the right direction after a horrible start. Otávio has scored double digit Fantasy points in two of those four matches and can certainly have a big match against Bochum.
D: Philipp Förster, Midfielder (BOC, 4.3M, 1%) - Förster is clearly loving life playing under Thomas Letsch. Since he took the reins, Förster has been fantastic, notching two assists and a goal in his last three games. At only 4.3M as well, he is a complete steal of a player.
VfB Stuttgart v. FC Augsburg:
M: Borna Sosa, Defender (VFB, 12.1M, 2%) - Sans the beatdown he received last weekend at Dortmund, Sosa has been steadily performing better and better each week, reminding us of the top tier Fantasy player he was last year. In his last four games played, Sosa has sent in an astounding 27 crosses. Eventually, more of those will start making their way into the back of the net.
D: Ruben Vargas, Midfielder (FCA, 7.9M, 0%) - Vargas has started the last three matches after dealing with an ankle injury to start the season. He is starting to round into the form managers were used to seeing last year. His goal last weekend was a huge weight off the shoulders and should start playing even more freely as he works back to full fitness.
Eintracht Frankfurt v. Borussia Dortmund:
M: Jesper Lindström, Midfielder (SGE, 12.5M, 6%) - With Dortmund on a short week and Bellingham possibly missing the match all together, the cards may fall in the right direction for Frankfurt this weekend. Lindström has been on a tear lately, scoring double digit Fantasy points in three of the last four matches.
D: Giovanni Reyna, Midfielder (BVB, 11.5M, 0%) - Reyna seems to be healthy and back in the fold of things for Dortmund. He started last matchday for the first time this season and already grabbed a goal. If he stays healthy, we all know what sort of player Reyna can be.
1. FC Union Berlin v. Borussia Mönchengladbach:
M: Marcus Thuram, Forward (BMG, 13.1M, 41%) - Still the top Fantasy player in the game after a double digit point week, Thuram now has a league high eight goals on the season already. It is no fluke as he also has the most shots taken for the year with 44.
D: Alassane Pléa, Forward (BMG, 11.9M, 0%) - Pléa has recorded an assist in each of the last three games but hasn’t scored since back on August 19th against Hertha. He has always been a great provider but usually has more goals by this point of the season. Expect that to change soon. Otherwise, he is still second in the league in assists.
FC Schalke 04 v. Sport-Club Freiburg:
M: Michael Gregoritsch, Forward (SCF, 9M, 9%) - Gregoritsch is the sixth best forward in Fantasy at the moment and has the worst team in the league up next. He hasn’t scored in the last three league matches so it is about time for him to get back on the scoresheet.
D: Phillip Lienhart, Defender (SCF, 11.2M, 1%) - Lienhart scored double digit Fantasy points last weekend and had multiple attempts on goal. Freiburg should be no match for Schalke and Lienhart could easily have another showing like he did against Bremen.
1. FC Köln v. TSG Hoffenheim:
M: Andrej Kramarić, Forward (TSG, 13.7M, 1%) - Both teams are coming off losses, however, Köln’s demolition by Mainz could have detrimental effects. Not sure if Köln will be able to bounce back so quickly whereas Hoffenheim put up a decent fight against Bayern. They should have a little more confidence going into the match.
D: Georginio Rutter, Forward (TSG, 11.3M, 0%) - Rutter has taken five shots over the last two matches and has been unlucky to come away without a goal. Between him and Kramarić, one of them should have no problem finding the back of the net.
