Bayern München president Uli Hoeness met with Oliver Bierhoff in the summer of 2017 to explore if the ex-Germany international would be willing to take over the role as sporting director at the club, Sport Bild reports.

However, apparently, Bierhoff chose to stick with his job as the general manager of the German national team.

Instead, Hasan Salihamidzic was appointed Bayern München sporting director in the summer of 2017.

Currently, Bayern are looking for a future CEO, and the main candidate is Oliver Kahn with whom a conversation is scheduled for the spring of 2019.
