Frankfurt's Onguene is reportedly heading back to Salzburg on loan

Eintracht Frankfurt's Jerome Onguene, who is yet to feature for the German club, is returning to RB Salzburg on loan with an option to buy according to Fussball Transfers.
Fussball Transfers reports that Frankfurt center-back Jerome Onguene is heading back to Salzburg on loan for the rest of the campaign once the winter window begins. A purchase option is reportedly included in the deal.

The 24-year-old moved on a free from Salzburg to Frankfurt over the summer, but hasn't played due to several injury setbacks.

Onguene has been out all season with both a thigh muscle strain and an abductor muscle tear. He made 111 competitive apperances in Austria after moving from Stuttgart in 2018.

Due to these injury hiccups, he's fallen out of the favor in the current Frankfurt side. Onguene's contract expires in 2027.
