Champions League football reportedly key to Leipzig's hopes of keeping Olmo

Signing a new contract with RB Leipzig is apparently only an option for Dani Olmo if the club secure a place in the Champions League.
RB Leipzig must qualify for the Champions League to keep their hopes of extending Dani Olmo's contract alive, according to Sport Bild.

At the moment, Leipzig are not in a position to qualify for the Champions League as they are fifth in the Bundesliga.

However, Marco Rose's troops are are just one point behind fourth-placed Freiburg and three points behind third-placed Union Berlin.

Leipzig are desperate not to lose the Spain international for nothing when his contract expires in 2024 and are keen to tie him down to a new deal.

Nevertheless, contract talks between the parties have reportedly stalled recently, with Olmo currently reluctant to sign a new deal.
