Fabrizio Romano: Augsburg keen to acquire young Dutch striker
Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that FC Augsburg are looking to snap up Dutch striker Sontje Hansen of Ajax on a free.
The proactive approach of FC Augsburg with regard to obtaining center-forwards continues, at least according to Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano. Misjonne Juniffer Naigelino "Sontje" Hansen is reportedly in the focus of the Fuggerstädter. The 20-year-old has spent the entirety of the season playing for Ajax's reserve side. The once €6-million-valued attacking prospect sits on an expiring contract and can be had on a free.
Hansen - who has represented the Netherlands at various youth levels nearly fifty times - was once considered a golden prospect after netting 13 goals in 24 appearances for the Dutch U17s. Though not considered strong enough for the Ajax senior team, the youngster is in the midst of a successful seven-scorer-point campaign for the reserves.
It increasingly looks to be the case that Augsburg will sell off Groningen-loanee Ricardo Pepi to an Erdevisie side. Recent reports suggest that PSV Eindhoven are interested in acquiring the American on a permanent basis. Romano reports that the FCA may be interested in purchasing Hansen even if he signs a contract extension with his current club.
