Schalke 04 coach Domenico Tedesco has revealed that he prefers to use Mark Uth at the number 10 position from now on.

Uth has mostly played as a striker throughout his career, but Tedesco believes the 27-year-old may be more effective if he's pushed a bit further back.

"I think that because of his abilities, Mark is better preserved at the number 10 position," Tedesco told Kicker and explained that Uth is good at finding room and moving between the lines.

"He has also the technical requirements. He knows how to play the final ball, but he's also a great finisher," Tedesco added.

Actually, Tedesco already played Uth in the offensive midfield position a number of times during the first half of the season - such as in the two Champions League games against Galatasaray. And the 27-year-old insists he didn't need any convincing.

"The coach didn't have to convince me. It means I can influence the game more and create space," Uth said.

Uth has made 17 appearances for Schalke 04 until now with two goals and two assists to his name.
