Dortmund make first offer for Alvarez, Bild reports
Bild reports that Borussia Dortmund have made an initial bid for Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez.
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly stepping up their efforts to sign Ajax's Edson Alvarez.
According to Bild, the Black and Yellows have made an initial offer of €30 million for the 25-year-old defensive midfielder.
However, this may not be enough for Ajax, who are hoping for up to €50 million including bonuses, according to a recent report from the Guardian.
On the positive side for Dortmund, their main rivals in the race for Alvarez, West Ham, are said to have pulled out of the race for the Ajax player in order to focus on other candidates.
Should Dortmund's pursuit of Alvarez prove fruitless, they could turn their attention to Lecce's Morten Hjulmand.
