Reports: Köln target Danish fullback

Multiple German footballing media sources are currently reporting that 1. FC Köln have found a hard target in their search for help at the right fullback position.
Following Kingsley Schindler's departure last week, 1. FC Köln have just one trained right-back on their roster. The cathedral city side are known to be on the market for someone to backup starter Benno Schmitz and have been linked with several names over the course of the summer. Belgian news sources, along with Germany's "Sport Bild" tabloid and Kicker Magazine, are currently reporting that die Geißböcke have found their man in the form of Danish youth international Rasmus Carstensen.

The Silkeborg-academy-man recently completed a big-money-move to K.R.C. Genk, but has been unable to establish himself with the Jupiler Pro League runners-up. The two German sources report that both a loan and outright purchase are being considered. Carstensen cost the Belgian side €3 million last summer and currently maintains an estimated market worth of €1.5 million in the latest transfermarkt listings. Köln head-coach Steffen Baumgart is on record as stating that he hopes to have a new player in place before the team kicks off its season in the DFB Pokal on August 14th.
