Kicker reports €95 million offer persuaded Frankfurt to sell Muani
According to Germany's preeminent footballing publication, it was a €95 million offer that got Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani's transfer to PSG over the line yesterday.
A transfer matter seemingly closed finished in a surprising fashion yesterday. Eintracht Frankfurt's want-away French forward got his desired move to the capital of his native country. Germany's preeminent footballing publication, Kicker Magazine, reports that a late offer of €95 million was simply too much for Eintracht to refuse. Kicker contacted SGE chief personnel executive Markus Krösche to confirm this.
"In the end, the developments of the past few hours and the associated economic parameters - which meant a record income for Eintracht Frankfurt from a player transfer - were decisive," Krösche told Kicker, "Late in the evening, we received an offer that we could not refuse from an economic point of view in the interest of Eintracht Frankfurt."
Until yesterday evening, Frankfurt's record outgoing transfer was the sale of Luka Jovic in the summer of 2019 for €60 million. Frankfurt actually initially purchased Muani on a free from FC Nantes in 2022, making the 24-year-old one of the largest financial flips in the history of European football. Frankfurt were not able to procure a replacement for him before the window closed.
