Sky Germany reports that rumors linking Uruguayan center back Ronald Araujo with German giants FC Bayern München remain quite legitimate and may soon produce a January transfer. The German pay-TV channel claims that FCB head-coach Thomas Tuchel has already phoned the Barcelona professional to inform him that the club "absolutely" wants him.

In their quest to make of ground for a botched end to the summer 2023 transfer window, Bayern are expected to be very proactive on the transfer front this time around. As reluctant as Barça may be to part company with their central defender, the deep pockets of the German record champions may prove too difficult to resist.

Bayern will also be very aggressive in their attempts to acquire a new center back. South Korea's Min-Jae Kim will presumably be on international duty during the month of January during the Asian continental championship. A purchase in the €70-€90 million range isn't out of the question for the German giants.

Sky reports that Tuchel and FCB sporting director Christoph Freund were both involved in the infamous Araujo phone call. Tuchel was pressed for comment in his pre-match interview with Sky ahead of kickoff in today's Bayern-Frankfurt match. The FCB trainer declined to address the rumor.
