FC Köln forward Jan Thielmann has been handed a two-game suspension by the German Football Association after getting sent off in Sunday's 2-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen.

Thielmann was shown a straight red card for stepping on the foot of Granit Xhaka in the 14th minute of the game.

The German Football Association also announced a three-match ban for Bochum's Moritz-Broni Kwarteng on Tuesday.
