Manuel Neuer has made it clear once and for all that he won’t be coming out of international retirement.

His agent, Thomas Kroth, suggested earlier this week that the Bayern Munich goalkeeper could be open to representing Germany at the 2026 World Cup if he was asked.

However, the 39-year-old Bayern veteran since said himself that he had no plans of making a comeback.

And speaking after Bayerns's 5-0 win over Hamburger SV in the Bundesliga on Saturday, he made it clear to Sky that his decision is definitive.

“The fact is that I have decided not to play for the national team anymore," Neuer said.

With Marc-André ter Stegen sidelined by a long-term injury, Hoffenheim captain Oliver Baumann has been filling in between the posts for Germany lately.
