After leaving Bayern Munich for Galatasaray, Leroy Sané has been left out of Germany’s squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Slovakia and Northern Ireland.

Speaking to Bild, the 29-year-old addressed Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann’s decision:

"My communication with Julian Nagelsmann has always been good, and above all very open and honest – that’s what I appreciate most about him," Sané said.

"I know exactly what he wants to see from me – now, of course, it’s primarily up to me."

Sané has struggled to find his rhythm in Turkey so far, but he is confident that will change soon.

"After the international break, it really starts properly. I also enjoy having two games per week the most, to really build momentum and get into a good rhythm."
