Bayern Munich opened their Champions League campaign in style, defeating Chelsea 3-1 on Wednesday.

Josip Stanisic’s second-half substitution was a fly in the ointment for Vincent Kompany's side, but the setback appears minor, with the Croatian full-back optimistic he can feature against Hoffenheim at the weekend.

"All's well, I can play," the 25-year-old told Kicker after the win over Chelsea.

Stanisic has started every Bundesliga match for Bayern this season.

His availability is crucial as the German champions are already without Hiroki Ito, Alphonso Davies, and Raphael Guerreiro through injury.
