Götze set to miss Eintracht Frankfurt's Champions League opener against Galatasaray

Eintracht Frankfurt will most likely begin their 2025/26 Champions League campaign against Galatasaray on Thursday without Mario Götze.
The German World Cup winner has missed the club’s last two Bundesliga matches due to a muscle injury and is not expected to feature against the Turkish champions either, according to Bild.
Götze has returned to team training, but Eintracht are unwilling to take any risks with him on Thursday, the report claims.
The 33-year-old could make his return for Sunday’s Bundesliga clash with 1. FC Union Berlin.
In Götze’s absence, Can Uzun has shone in central attacking midfield for Eintracht, registering three goals and three assists in four games so far this season.
