Borussia Dortmund's worst fears have been confirmed now that Aaron Anselmino will miss today's match against Heidenheim at short notice.

According to Ruhr Nachrichten, the Argentinian is injured and absent from the squad which is a bitter loss for their injury-plagued BVB defense.

The Chelsea loanee had just demonstrated his talents on debut against Union Berlin as coach Kovač hailed his "sensationally good" performance.

However, the BVB coach also pointed out Anselmino's lack of match practice and fitness, which he had brought with him from London.

Anselmino already struggled with cramps in his debut and will likely need some time to be able to play regularly and for an extended period.

This means Kovač can only field a 19-man squad against Heidenheim while at least Filippo Mane returns from a recent suspension.

The hope, at least internally, is that the 20-year-old Argentine will be back fit in time for BVB's first Champions League clash with Juventus next Tuesday.
