Borussia Dortmund fell to a surprising defeat on Friday evening as the Bundesliga leaders were beaten 2-1 by Augsburg at WWK-Arena.

After the game, BVB captain Marco Reus told Sky that he felt individual mistakes were responsible for the defeat.

"We only have ourselves to blame for losing. We gifted them the goals by making two individual mistakes. We can't give away the ball so lightly. In addition to that, we had enough chances to score against an opponent who as expected were defending deep," Reus said.

Reus pointed to the fact that Bayern München managed to take a 3-2 win in Augsburg despite also facing difficulties.

"Bayern also had a difficult time here. The difference is that they scored the goals and didn't make the individual mistakes that we're making at the moment. We have to stop that immediately. Otherwise, it will obviously be tight behind us," he said.

Dortmund are currently three points clear of Bayern München who face Borussia Mönchengladbach today.
