Bence Dardai set to join Wolfsburg on a free, WAZ claims
The local "Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung" reports that VfL Wolfsburg are close to signing Hertha BSC midfielder Bence Dardai on a free.
Pal Dardai's youngest son is apparently about to make the switch from Germany's capital to nearby ICE-neighbors VfL Wolfsburg. The local Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung reports that Bence Dardai has opted to sign with Germany's green company team from Hertha BSC. The 18-year-old is free to depart his hometown club once his current contract expires at the end of the season.
Injuries have limited Bence to just eight league appearances this season. The attack midfielder - a member of the Christian Wück Germany U17 side that won the Euros last summer - also wasn't able to join Wück and the rest of the U17s during their World Cup winning campaign last autumn. Bence is nevertheless regarded as a fine prospect after scoring four goals for Germany at the U17 level and below.
Borussia Mönchengladbach and several unnamed Italian sides were reportedly also interested in securing Bence's services, but the northern Autostädter have won out. In public statements about the player, Wück (recently promoted to the role of the German women's national team head-coach) labeled Benche a "good decision maker capable of setting up teammates or finishing himself thanks to his solid technique."
