Bayer Leverkusen are hoping to extend Jonathan Tah's contract beyond 2025, managing director for sport Simon Rolfes has confirmed.

"We would like Jona to stay," Rolfes said in an interview with Bild, adding:

"He has developed excellently on and off the pitch."

Tah has been an integral part of Xabi Alonso's successful Leverkusen side at the heart of defense.

The 28-year-old has previously admitted that he's attracted to playing in the English Premier League.

However, given Leverkusen's success this season, he may be tempted to stay put and commit to a new deal.
