Germany were world class in the first half of Sunday's European Championship qualifier against the Netherlands, says Jürgen Klinsmann.

Joachim Löw's troops ended up winning 3-2 after they were up 2-0 at the break, and Klinsmann was hugely impressed with the first 45 minutes in particular.

"Germany were world class in the first half. The Dutch wanted to play football and go forward, but Germany didn't let them," Klinsmann told RTL before underlining just how vital Nico Schulz's late winner was:

"It was incredibly important for the development of a new squad."

Germany continue their European Championship qualifying campaign in June with games against Belarus and Estonia.
